VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT
Volunteers are the heartbeat of MANNA. To ensure an enjoyable, safe, and productive volunteer experience, we ask all volunteers to review and agree to the guidelines below. Please digitally sign this agreement to indicate that you have read and agree to follow the volunteer policies. Please know that these policies are put in place to keep you and all of our volunteers, staff, and visitors safe as this has been, and continues to be, our top priority.
Values and Behavior
1. Respecting those around us is a core value of MANNA FoodBank. We welcome and embrace the diversity of our beloved community and are committed to providing a work environment that is free of discrimination. In keeping with this commitment, we ask volunteers to be respectful towards other volunteers and MANNA staff. This includes refraining from any figures of speech, jokes, slurs, or disrespectful language or actions that are discriminative and/or harassing in nature. Harassment of any kind (verbal, physical, sexual, etc.) will not be tolerated and any incidents should be reported immediately to staff.
2. We want everyone in our volunteer community to be comfortable in the physical space. Therefore, we ask all to be aware of one another's personal space and to be mindful about not imposing on the personal space of others.
3. MANNA is a dedicated steward of all gifts and donations provided to us by the community. All items we distribute are intended solely for our neighbors in need. Food, supplies, and/or produce cannot be taken by volunteers - this includes products that are deemed unfit and are designated for disposal. MANNA has a no-tolerance policy for theft and any occurrence will result in immediate dismissal.
4. For the safety of everyone in our community running, shouting, horseplay (tossing food, etc.), or foul language will not be tolerated. Likewise, possession of alcohol, drugs, or weapons is prohibited on MANNA's property and anyone under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol will not be permitted to volunteer.
I understand that my volunteer relationship may be terminated for reasons that may include, but are not limited to, harassment, stealing, unruly or disruptive conduct, as well as non-compliance with this agreement, food bank policies and protocols, or the inability to comply with volunteer job requirements.
I have carefully read the volunteer commitment statement and fully understand its contents, to which I agree with my own free will.
