The Kokoda Youth Foundation is a dedicated and passionate non-profit organisation committed to running experiential youth programs, which help young people gain physical and mental resilience, confidence, and instill in them the values of Courage, Endurance, Mateship and Sacrifice through the story of the Kokoda Campaign in 1942.

The Kokoda Challenge is a signature event that embodies these values and is the main fundrasing avenue for the Kokoda Youth Foundation.

Position Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging Volunteer Event MC to host and guide participants, spectators, and fellow volunteers through the various activities and stages of the Kokoda Challenge. As the voice of the event, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and energetic atmosphere, keeping the audience informed, and contributing to the overall success of the event.

Key Responsibilities:

• Opening Ceremonies: Host the opening ceremonies, welcoming participants, acknowledging sponsors, and setting the tone for the event.
• Event Announcements: Provide timely and engaging announcements, updates, and information about the event schedule, activities, and any changes.
• Participant Recognition: Acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of participants, teams, and volunteers, creating an inclusive and supportive environment.
• Interaction with Participants: Engage with participants, encourage team spirit, and facilitate interviews or conversations with event participants and special guests.
• Emergency Procedures: Communicate important safety and emergency information to participants and attendees as needed.

Qualifications:

• Strong public speaking and communication skills.
  Energetic, enthusiastic, and comfortable engaging with diverse audiences.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic event schedule and handle unexpected changes.
• Previous experience as an MC or public speaker is a plus.
