Answer basic bike maintenance questions from riders, help check tire pressures, and triage bikes with issues for the bike mechanic on hand.

 

Bringing your own bike repair stand and tool kit is preferred, but if you don’t have one we have a stand and tool kit that you can borrow. If you need to borrow a stand and toolkit from Cascade please email volunteer@cascadebicycleclub.org

 

If you are representing a mutual aid or community group feel free to bring a tip jar and information about your group along with you!

 

Coffee and pastries will be provided.

 

Skills: Customer Service; Knowledge of intermediate bike maintenance and adjustment:

• Derailleur adjustments (limit screws, b-tension, cable tension)
• Brake adjustments (caliper alignment, minor rotor truing, pad alignment)
• Fix a flat
• Safety check (wheels seated in dropouts, seat clamp torqued, pedals torqued, check headset preload, check stem torque)
• Brake/derailleur cable replacement (external routing only)
