Love the outdoors and helping others? The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is seeking adventurous and dedicated camp hosts for the 2024 season!

Perks: In addition to the benefit of free camping during your service, camp hosting is a great way to meet new people, build lasting relationships, be a steward of the environment, and spend time outdoors in your Nebraska State Parks. And did we mention, free camping? (The campsite will be designated by the park superintendent.)

Duties Include: Acting as a representative of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, greeting and assisting visitors, answering questions and explaining regulations and policies. May assist campers in locating a campsite and be familiar with local points of interest and the location of services that might be requested by campers such as towing, groceries, tourist attractions, and local events. Will perform light maintenance work around the campground such as litter pickup, cleaning of fire rings, and cleaning and stocking of restrooms.

Skills Required: Ability to get along well with people. Ability to remain calm and friendly when dealing with guest concerns. Ability to make rounds through the camping area. Ability to adapt to changing work conditions. Knowledge of the park and surrounding area is a plus!

Time Commitment: At least 20 hours of service per week for a minimum of two weeks, including most weekends and all holidays.

Successful completion of a background check is required. Must be 19 years or older. Your application will be submitted to our parks office and you will be contacted if a position is offered.
