SATURDAY U District Food Bank Food Delivery Ride

Join Pedaling Relief Project and Cascade to feed hungry neighbors, meet new friends, have fun riding bikes, and show that bikes are ideal tools for in-city short-haul cargo in Northeast Seattle

MEETING POINT
Meet at the University District Food Bank at 5017 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle, WA 98105 (map). At the front of the building there is a large garage door and you’ll find us gathered just inside of the garage. Only bikes are allowed in the garage during the times below.

MEETING TIMES

9am to 9:15am - This is a solo delivery ride you'll only need to take 2 to 4 grocery bags and give 45 minuets of your time!

If you are running late and arrive at 9:20am or 9:30am we will put you in one of the delivery group rides.

9:15am to 9:30am - Ravenna OR Arbora bldg. group ride - 45 min ride
As riders arrive for the group rides we'll split up between the group taking bags to apartment buildings in Ravenna and the group who is going to the Arbora court apartments building.

Both groups leave the food bank promptly at 9:30am.

WHAT TO BRING

Bring yourself
a bike;
a helmet;
a way to carry a bag of groceries (panniers, rack, basket, backpack, trailer);

If you have a trailer, bring that. If not, we have ones you can borrow, and we're happy to show you how to use them too.

We divide into teams based on interest (see activities listed below).

Join us afterward for a social at Armistice Coffee Roosevelt (map) (located on the west corner of NE 68th St and Roosevelt) at 10:45 am.

ACTIVITY: SOLO HOME DELIVERY
We load up trailers with pre-packaged food bags, and deliver them to neighbors who are unable to visit the University District Food Bank in person. Solo deliveries mostly go to individual homes.

ACTIVITY: GROUP HOME DELIVERY
We load up trailers with pre-packaged grocery bags, and deliver them to neighbors who are unable to visit the University District Food Bank in person. Group deliveries mostly go to apartment buildings (in a group one volunteer can stay outside and watch the bike).

SOCIAL GATHERING
Whatever group you ride in (or if you ride solo), everyone is invited to join us for a social afterwards at Armistice Coffee Roosevelt (map), located on the west corner of NE 68th St and Roosevelt.
