|
Description:
Summer 2024 Teen Volunteers Position Overview Teen Volunteers will help Library staff with the Summer Reading Club and LibCon program and events during the summer at either Thousand Oaks Library or Newbury Park Library.
Key Responsibilities Volunteers will help with Summer Reading Club or LibCon as directed by a Library staff member. This may include but not be limited to:
Qualifications All Volunteers:
Training and Support Provided: After applying, the Volunteer Coordinator will send an Interview Form. All Volunteers must complete and fill out an interview form ASAP. If they are a qualified candidate, teens will be invited to Orientation Training where they will be trained on everything required to be a Summer Volunteer. Teens must complete Orientation Training before they can sign up for Volunteer Shifts at the Library. Training Orientations are available starting in April. Early attendance to Orientation Trainings will give you priority to choose Library location and to sign up for shifts that fit your schedule.
Time Commitment: After Training Orientation, volunteers can sign up for volunteer shifts that fit their schedule. Volunteer shifts are available from June 15 - August 11, 2024. Shifts range from 2-4 hours. We encourage teens to volunteer as much time as possible, but we ask that teens complete a minimum of 20 hours over the course of the summer. If a teen volunteers at least 3 hours each week they will complete the minimum requirement.
